Time is the only thing I've truly sought. Not as in I want to live forever time, but just enough for savoring what I have left.
When I reached an academic crossroad in graduate school, my mentor, the great Dr. James Nagel, told me most of the businesspeople he knew just wanted to make enough money to be able to retire. (Professors, he said, stayed until asked to leave.) I thought about his words often in my business life as I saved enough to help fund the journey to my north star.

My new path has led to simplicity; to the trail; to the water; and to a thoughtful place. I smile when I meet people here, ignoring my inner Ishmael. I intend gratitude in every step.

Maybe you've thought about finding a way to this place, too; if so check out this part of my journey. Even if you haven't, you still might find some joy in the scenery.
